pendidikan.

i have nothing against teaching maths and science in english. i actually think that this is a good step in preparing the younger generation to be more competitive in this new world. to be able to stay relevant and updated in this globalisation era.

one thing that was not so great about this concept was on the day it was implemented. it was hasty, hence we were not able to supply sufficient teachers to our schools nationwide. nevertheless, after years of it being implemented in school, we should be able to catch up. the students are now able to understand maths and science in english.

okay, realistically it is an easy feat for the schools in town. urbanites would actually benefit from all this. orang kampung may not. but due to this the students have to start taking english seriously. maths and science should be taught with both mediums. in the end, it becomes a 4-pronged strategy la. u get to improvise your english while teaching maths and science and at the same time encourage this kids to understand and love the subject in Malay language.

i really don't see the problem. now that some mahasiswa have to go against it, i think rugi la. of all the rakyat in this country, mahasiswa la the people that should understand the need of studying this 2 subjects in english. the revision books, text books are all in english. and with all that, we too could study overseas. maybe places like russia, egypt and japan would have our students study in their own respective languages, but then english is needed as a catalyst. to explain ourselves better to another foreign speaker. do u think russian would be able to speak malay to explain some mathematical theories to us?

i am currently teaching a young girl mathematics. i studied maths in Malay language some 11 years ago. but this girl's text book is in english. i seriously had to crack my head to actually understand all of the exercises in her text book wanting her to do some calculation in english. i have to thank my degree experience actually that i was exposed with maths in english. and thank god that my english is not bad, and neither is my math, therefore i could connect and recall some malay-maths i learned back in my Jenan years.

in the end, it is always better to know more languages and terms and .... well, it's always better to know a lot of things right?

and to those who still thinks that English is Evil, you can always answer your SPM questions in Malay. they still have the papers bilingual. gila bertuah budak2 sekarang. u get to learn language while studying something else.

the problem with PPSMI is the teachers. not all the teachers are well-versed in English. itu aje masalahnya. but being teachers kan, u of all people should be the one who is more excited in learning new things. betul tak? teachers teach and learn at the same time, all the time, no?

i rest my case.

saya setuju.saya setuju.but i think its blown out of proportions.

i don't think learning english makes us less of a malay.its just a language like mandarin, tamil, japanese, german and what not.

i think it waste the haste decision with the policy makers that made it really bad as usual.nak cepat jek.

oit. i am too lazy to only WATCH futsal. pegi main tak pe la kan? :D

anyways, mmg la. pasal nak cepat tu nampak mcm effort ni agak membazir. but then again, dont stop while in the middle la kan. u can't see a generation's achievement in only 5 years. kena tgk budak2 yg start learning with this scheme until uni, until diorg keje sume.

then baru kita leh decide samada berjaya ke tidak projek ni.
