mencari diri yang sebenar

no, this is not me recapitulating my year 2007. not just yet. there's 3 more days to a NEW YEAR. i still have 72 hours to get that 2007 year-end summary done. heh.

as always, i was reading somewhere in some portal where some people were having some very heated argument over some really petty issue regarding someone's personal activities. anyway, in between those conversations, i saw something that had caught my attention. something like this ' kalo mahu carik diri yang sebenar, baik pegi ke mekah'.

and yes, i m compelled to write something about that. about soul searching. about figuring out one self. and i felt disturbed by such statement. whereby u ought to go to Mekah in order to search for yourself. hey, sapa bilang ni?

the very place to start soul searching is not written on the map, silly! it starts within u. dalam jiwa. dalam raga. dalam hati. dalam minda. in you. WHEREVER YOU ARE! hatta, dalam toilet pon.

for a person coming from a reputable school and quite elderly, i never would have expected such shallow mentality. well, maybe, just maybe there are among us who would want to agree to his statement. tp, suka hati korang la kan. i still couldn't agree with his statement.

just because someone mentioning he was off to europe for some soul searching, that doesn't mean that he has gone astray or wild. and plus, he could go anywhere and do anything even, just to search within himself. and that people, applies to all of us.

am telling u, u could be wherever in this planet just to figure out yourself. maybe not everyone gets their enlightenment in a mosque, synagogue or whatever. some figured themselves out di tepi jalan, masa mabuk, masa tgk porn. masa bila-bila. masa almost accident. masa baca buku cerita. anytime anywhere.

and someone replied about that 'kita akan dapat kenali diri sebenar' once we are buried, consumed by the very substance that made us human. true! at that time, its no longer searching. we totally got ourselves figured. knowing what we deserve.

entahlah. of late, i think piousness is fake. ops, stated in the webster dictionary, pious is already pretending religious devotion. heh. befitting gile dgn maksud hatiku.

sekian , ulasan saya yang tak alim ni.

Sometimes, I like being alone (bukan selalu, kalau selalu sudah ada something wrong).

So occasionally, friends would ask, hey whatcha doing by yourself? Jom la keluar yam cha etc.

So I said, when I'm alone, I can hear myself thinking much clearly.

Maybe that's also part of not the entire process of getting to know oneself.

exactly that. there's only u and your mind contemplating life. discussing your soul. naked and hugry. needy.

i think everyone would want some time for themselves to be alone. i mean they should.

to me, in order to find your self, it starts from within, not by branding that place or this place as the location where u'll find your soul.

yet again, kata orang, kata hati, ada masanya tempat2 tertentu juga memudahkan kita jumpa apa yang kita cari-cari.

kan?

shahidah: i dont think tempat tertentu yg memudahkan, tp tuhan jugak yg memudahkan.

walau ke mekah pon, tp hati karat, tak terbuka, ada perasaan takbur, sedikit rasa riak, akan terbuka kah pintu hati?

hanya tuhan aje yg tahu. hanya tuhan aje yg izinkan.

the way i see it, my arguments still stand.
