trying too hard

ada sorang mamat ni. musti bajet aku ni selenge mcm haram, maka telah memulakan perbualan cenggini dengan aku-

loser : all the numbers that we've been using, u tau tak the arabs yang wujudkan, yg buat. bukan mat salleh.
me : hmm. i tau.

loser : owh, u tau eh. tu la, saje nak bgtau u , yg pak arabs ni la yg invent numbers. bukan mat salleh sume.
me : hmm. tell me something i dont know pls. since u start off this conversation on a bragging note kan.

loser : owh. hehe. u tau tak yg invent ni nama dia Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī?
me :hmm. tau.

loser : owh u tau eh. owh u tau tak ada another inventor, Abū Nasr al-Fārābi ?
me :hmm. tau.

loser : owh tau gak eh. so do u know apakah persamaan mereka berdua?
me : hmm. tak tau. tell la. ( ni ada tone interested gak. tp sbb dah pissed off kan. )

me : so what does ahli sufi does?

loser : mcm ni la. to put into our perspective, kalo kita dengan nama tuhan, tp kalo ahli sufi ni, dengan cinta pada tuhan.

note to self and to friends :

frankly i have no idea if khawarizmi and al farabi the only beings who invented numbers. but what i know is that the arabs were the one who starts of with having numeric symbols. and its them who quantify zero. (^ lepas baca wiki, then perhaps it wasnt the muslim either. but that's what i thought la kan. masa baca dalam text book rasenye. hmm).the process of inventing numbers is a gradual one. it tooks many phases and a lot of civilizations and obviously lots of scholars. having said that, still later on the symbol changes and created depending on each civilization. but not without the study of the arabic or chinese numerics. (ni ape yg i ingat2 lupe la kan. tp can read more of it on google or wiki la kan, obviously i will do that. maybe satgi, i link them to this entry).

of sufism, i just wanted to know how does it relates to the story of it being mathematical. mamat ni jelas skali telah lost linkage between being a sufi and a mathematician. i want to know THAT. how. i do know one thing, that back then, the historical times, the inventions era, all mathematicians or scientist are mostly orang alim ulama, nama pon alim ulama, berpengetahuan. diorg jugalah doktor, penyair , penyajak, ahli muzik*.

p/s : ape2 fakta sejarah yg i tulis does not necessarily be correct. and after reading some, i might be wrong and yet lazy to correct them. coz i am not that smart either. hmm. tambahan pula, saya berjaya membuktikan mamat ni juga salah la jugak fakta sejarahnya. ceh.
