i am currently reading some stuff regarding to our language , i mean Bahasa and the steps taken to uphold this regional language. and i'm somewhat confused while reading texts prepared by the very people who is upholding our bahasa.
sentences like :
- ini akan mewujudkan suasana menang-menang bagi industri b*k* dan kedinamikan ilmu.
- pelaksanaan kegiatan [ masukkan sebarang persatuan ] ditanggung oleh masing-masing negara anggota.
and i go like ,wtf??! ok fine. back in school, i always got grade 2 for my monthly tests just because my Bahasa usually lands on c7, but sentences as above is totally shitty man. i mean, what the hell is suasana menang-menang? i know, it's win-win situation in English , but does that sentence make sense? if say, i was a no brainer in english, would that suasana menang-menang bagi industri *toot* make sense?
ditanggung oleh masing-masing negara anggota? can't we just go by saying ditanggung oleh negara anggota? what's the masing-masing for?
if this kind of sentence is exactly the benchmark for marking Bahasa papers, then it's no wonder i got c7 every month before my SPM trial and SPM itself. i can't fucking merepek or expand my sentences to go to such great length.
and yet we fret that bangsa melayu tidak akan maju when we no longer uphold our 'obviously unstable/unsteady' language. in this multilanguage country, i believe we need more than only a language to succeed and to actually strive beyond the heights of KLCC.

talk about it, girl!
i mean, being an official spell checker and grammar corrector these days, i wonder about our twisted Bahasa so much. i mean, there's no stability, no clear rules in raping other languages into our own and simply no identity.
imagine -
'fungsional' already accepted into BM (bahasa melayu or bahasa Malaysia, i don't know which..). it's from the word 'functional'.
huh? 'functional programs' would have been loosely translated to 'program-program fungsional'
program-program fungsional? ape tu?
Lu baca artikel yg bukan ditulis dlm BM tapi yg dialih bahasa ke BM tu lah pasal!
Macam Shahidah kata mmg tiada garis panduan khusus. Even antara IPTA pun ada macam-macam skema penulisan/penterjemahan. Dewan Bahasa pun dah tak berfungsi
Gua rasa ayat babelfish lebih senang difahami kots dpd artikel yg diterjemahkan ikut skema burung kakaktua :P lol
smart! :)
quite right, bm sendiri tak di-regulate dan diper-elok oleh yang bertanggung jawab (DBP).
lepas tu nak kecoh-kecoh bila orang guna bahasa rojak, bila orang terpaksa substitute/straight away guna perkataan english untuk menjelaskan apa-apa.
mungkin bahasa melayu sendiri tidak ada tatabahasa yang jelas, mengakibatkan ianya ditutur atau ditulis mengikut kecenderungan masin-masing individu. sekaligus ini mewujudkan satu situasi yang bukan menang-menang dan menggagalkan bahasa melayu itu sendiri sebagai satu bahasa yang fungsional.
aku dapat a1 bm dulu fika! huhu ;)
shahidah : wtf is fungsional? i have to hate those in the Dewan. pls la do something about it.
toolbox : frankly , i was reading articles written by those in the you-know-where la kan. and i'm kinda disappointed la. typo tak kira lagi tu, baru kira grammatical error.
47 : sgt betul. dia memelayukan words takpe, kita rojakkan tak bleh. like apehal kan?
lucius : waaah, aplikasi secara langsung nampak? :D
aishah : waa, patut la u jadi PTD. LOL. weh, i pon A1 la SPM. hampeh. :P
fika: hi.. it's a surprise yesterday, tak sempat nk borak2 sambil lunch, u dh balik. drop by again, ek?
as for the word fungsional, i spotted the usage of such awkward word at jpa's website. the one at TRM online. cekidaut at http://www.interactive.jpa.gov.my/trmonline/mohon/senaraijadualfungsional.asp
shahidah : i'll be needing your help pon later. i'll buzz u once i am at your place after i get the ulasan needed ok.
Bahasa jiwa bangsa.
Kita tau jiwa bangsa kita kan?
Kalaulah Za'aba masih hidup..
jorji : tau kah kita? bahasa mmg jiwa bangsa. bahasa pon sebenonye punca penyatuan bangsa. bukan parti2 ni. tp bahasa. :)
bukan our languange full of bahasa orang lain ke? why stop now? hehe... anyway, bahasa bukan sepatutnya memudahkan communication kan? why make it harder than it already is?
ina : i think most languages are full of bahasa orang lain pon. and typically bahasa of earliest civilization would stick around and become our rujukan. but frankly, to actually strengthen our language is by coming up with words that in the end people would conform to our definition and stick by it rather than we crack our heads to fit theirs.
contohnya amuk and orangutan. hehe. apsal la kita ade 2 aje perkataan yg relevan ni. owh maybe more, but i got no time la to do research. not my thing. my thing is only membebel. hahaha.
maybe sebab kita selalu mengamuk bila orang panggil kita orangutan?
